The motto Work is Worship ( "உழைப்பே உயர்வு") has been the quintessence of the epic life of Late Thiru. Pioneer Kumaraswamy in whose sacred memory this College has been established. The twin aspects of our endeavour are (1) Ceaseless effort for improvement and striving for excellence (2) Doing our best to deserve Divine Grace.
In the evolution of every student of this college, our College Crest is symbolized by the following:
- Goddess Saraswathi inspires teachers and the taught here with light of wisdom. Her Divine presence is invoked for all academic activities of the College
- The Lighted Lamp is the symbol of the spread of knowledge. The sublimation of the senses leading to knowledge is symbolized by the flame. The flame burns steadily, indicating controlled application of the mental faculty for concentration in our stated goals
- The Arrow in the bow is a symbol of composure and perfection.
- The Temple Tower symbolizing our rich cultural heritage is also an indicator of convergence of our endeavours to accomplish greater heights of glory, dignity and status.
- The Swan symbolizes the repose of the infinite as distinguished from the restlessness of the individual. The ocean is reposeful while the wave is restless. To the extent possible, the individual student’s positive energy is sought to be conserved to imbibe the repose of the Divine Infinite
