STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME

Objectives
  • To help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment.
  • To inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the Institution.
  • To help them build bonds with other students and faculty members
  • To expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration

Activities:

Familiarization

Students are familiarized with their department, Programme of study, laboratories, ICT facilities and other facilities.

Lectures by Eminent People

Lectures by Eminent People are organized to provide exposure to students. People who are alumni, socially active in profession, or in public life are invited.

College Office

Help the students about the procedures to apply for various scholarships, bus pass and other government schemes by the office Assistant.

Extra-Curricular Activities in College

The new students are introduced to the extra-curricular activities at the college. They are shown the facilities and informed about activities related to different clubs etc.

2020-21

Student Induction Programme was conducted online from 04.09.2020 to 07.09.2020. Eminent Speakers Dr. V.R. TheivaPrakash, Treasurer, Alumni Association , Dr. C. James, Dean, IQAC & Associate professor, Scott Christian College and Dr. M. Radha Krishnan, Former Dean, Asaripallam Medical College motivated the students.

2021-22

Three days online Student Induction Programme to our first year students was conducted from 16.09.2021 to 18.09.2021. Dr. V.R. TheivaPrakash, Treasurer, Alumni Association and Dr. K. Padmakumar, Director, Centre for Marine Biodiversity, Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala shared their experiences.

2022-23

Six Days Student Induction Programme for the first year students was conducted from 27.07.2022 to 03.08.2022. Eminent Speakers like Dr. V.R. TheivaPrakash, Treasurer, Alumni Association, Dr. E. Ponnulingam, Former Principal, Vivekananda College, Agastheeswaram , Dr. S. Kannan, Liason Officer, Annamalai University, Chidambaram , Prof. A. Jeya Kumar, Assistant Professor of English, S.T. Hindu College, Er. R. Bright Reginold Raja, Head, HR, B2C Technologies , Dr. N. Bright Selva Kumar, Principal, Christian College of Physical Education , Dr P. Selvakatheeswaran, Assistant Professor of Psychology, Anna Vinayagar College of Education, Ganapathipuram , Mr. K. SthanuMoorthy, Observer, Yogic Education , Mr. K. P. Ganesan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Siva Ilango, Sub Inspector of Police (Traffic)Thuckalay Dr. R.D. Stevens Jones, Vice Principal & Associate Professor of Zoology , Scott Christian College (Autonomous) and Mr. Thankaraj, Sub- Inspector (Traffic), Marthandam enlightened the students.
